Feb 02, 2010 - Consumer advises that they placed an ad for a combine in a major agricultural newspaper. After about 2 weeks they were contacted by a 1-800 number indicating that they had the particular item sold to American buyers. They contacted the owner by using reverse lookup on www.mysask.com They wanted a substantial commission to present this implement to the American buyers.
Feb 02, 2010 - Consumer is concerned. They have placed a deposit with a local cabinet company for the amount exceeding $13,000. They have not had their cabinets installed and communication with the company is also a concern. No phone calls are returned and surrounding businesses indicate that other consumers have also been asking questions. Consumer wants other consumers to check out cabinet shops carefully before giving a deposit.
Jan28, 2010 - Consumer bought refurbished laptop computer with extended warranty. She paid over $600 for the item and she noticed that the laptop was warped after 11 days. She brought the laptop to the store and they couldn't fix it so they sent it away. Consumer is still without a laptop and thinks that the company should have replaced the laptop or given her money back. She is still in limbo and is very frustrated at the whole process.
Jan 21, 2010 - Consumer bought a very high end automobile new from a dealership. The dealership is located in one of the coldest parts of Canada. The high end vehicle is unable to have a block heater installed on the car. In addition this vehicle's heater is unable to heat the passenger area of the car in severe weather. Should the dealership sell new vehicles that are not suitable for the geographic area and climates of certain provinces?
Jan18, 2010 - Consumer reports that service station charged $300 for a car part. The same part at Parts Stores was $204 retail. She felt the service station probably got the part wholesale and questioned whether or not it is legal for the service station to do whateve it wanted. The consumer felt exploited by the service station in this case.
Jan15, 2010 - Consumer reports that plumbing company gave a quote for a high efficiency furnace. The company was picked for the job because of the quoted price. Consumer receives invoice for approximately 1/3 more and there has been no change to what was to be delivered in the quote. Consumer upset with company.
Jan 11, 2010 - Sheldon Toys - This business was operating in the Lawson Mall and Circle Center Mall in Saskatoon. They sold remote control toys and Crystal ornaments. Signs in the mall indicated no exchanges or refunds before December 29th, 2009 and that all exchanges would be made at Circle Center Mall. On December 29th, this business could not be found in Circle Center Mall and according to Mall owners the company packed up everything on December 28th even though Mall Staff thought they would be there until December 31st.
Jan. 11, 2010 - Consumer advises that they received a money order in the mail It was for an evaluation of Canada Post. They were to cash the money order and then send a transfer of money to the UK. The name of the company is Continental Evaluation Service - Richmond Hill Ontario. In Checking with BBB website we find this Report on Continental Evaluation Service.
