Our business model supports supports licensed and legal businesses. Our business model fully supports other websites and organizations that give consumers reliable information about a business, however will not allow any business to advertise with us that is on another business directory that uses any part of our legal name. Safe and Trusted Canada does not handle complaints or accredit businesses. It does not offer mediation services or arbitration services. Safe and Trusted Canada however gives consumers the opportunity to anonymously send reviews and ratings to any business on Safe and Trusted Canada by logging into the website with the business 10 digit phone number as the user name and the word " feedback " as the password. In addition the consumer can get their own free consumer account and rate or review any business directly. In all cases the review will go directly to the business owner. The purpose of this is to assist the business owner by allowing the business owner to publish what they do right and correct concerns before they become complaints. Issues that become complaints can be sent to organizations such as Better Business Bureau where both sides of an issue are able to mediate the issue in private.
Our business model allows the business to present information to the consumer. Any information that is not correct is the responsibility of the business owner. Any transactions between the business owner and the consumer remain with those two parties. Safe and Trusted Canada is not responsible for any transactions between the consumer and the business owner.
Our business model does support consumer input and reviews. It however does not allow the consumer to leave potentially damaging and libelous information about any business. Some consumers do not realize that they are responsible for what they write on the internet. In addition if there are complaints that end up in court, we do not want to be part of that process. We know that sometimes the business could have done a better job in delivering services, but we also know that there are many consumers looking for a way just to complain. Our business model will allow consumers to be more educated on the services, products and warranties of a business.
Our business model does not recommend one business over another. The position of a business in any business category is based entirely on the amount of consumer reviews on that business. Ratings are subjective and as such our business model supports the concept that several reviews of a 3 or 4 rating are better than just one review at a 5 rating. Our business model does not support unlimited reviews by any consumer on one business. A consumer can only rate a business once from their IP Address. In this way our business model supports a balanced review for the business.
Our business model promotes credibility of a business but will not allow any business who has a negative history with Better Business Bureau in Canada to be listed as a Business on Safe and Trusted Canada. Any business that is marked with a F Rating with Better Business Bureau is marked with a Caution Advised on Safe and Trusted Canada. A rating of F with Better Business Bureau is totally preventable by any business. In addition if there has been any significant issues brought forward to Safe and Trusted Canada, a business may be marked with our Caution Advised designation. The Caution Advised designation means that caution is advised when dealing with a particular company.
Our business model gives consumer more information about a business. The information is provided to educate the consumer, however there is an expectation that the consumer has also done due diligence by knowing what is necessary to ensure that they have protected their interests.
Our business model gives many abilities to the business. It should be noted that Safe and Trusted Canada has a separate Privacy Policy Page.
As a business owner you are responsible for all activities under your account password. Your password can be changed at any time for added security. Your password should contain letters, numbers and symbols for the greatest security. As a business owner do not give your password to your staff. Your account has a mailbox and could contain sensitive information about your business. A negative review and rating may talk about one of your staff. Only the owner or a trusted designate should receive this information.
As a business owner you agree that you will not upload, post or email that would constitute a violation of the rights of any other party.
As a business owner you agree that you will not impersonate any other person or entity, misrepresent affiliations with organizations, or upload misleading information. As an example pictures, logos, promotional materials, must belong to you or you must have permission to use them. You agree to pay all attorney's fees should Safe and Trusted Canada be involved in any misrepresentation of your company.
As a business owner you agree that you will honor any discounts or promotions that you offer on your listing. All consumers can print off a coupon for your discount or promotion and you must honor all coupons.
A business cannot rate or review any other business unless they are a direct customer of that business. We record all IP addresses for all ratings and reviews, and if this should occur, the business that does this is sent to our Caution Advised category.
All other rights are reserved, and commercial uses including publication, retransmission, broadcast, posting to newsgroups, mail lists or electronic bulletin boards, circulation, selling, reproduction or redistribution in any medium are prohibited, except with the prior written approval of the copyright owner.
