The Safe and Trusted Canada website is presented in English. You may use your browser's translation feature to view the website in your preferred language. Safe and Trusted Canada creates and maintains Information Only Profiles using publicly available business information. Safe and Trusted Canada goes beyond business names, reviews, and star ratings. A business owner or authorized representative may request removal of an Information Only Profile at any time. Business owners may also manage their listing at no charge through a free Basic Account. The Basic Account provides a username and password, giving the business owner control of the information displayed in the listing and the ability to keep it up to date. See Your Profile Options as a Business.

Consumers can search for a business by business location, phone number, city, or trade area, credentials, and more.   See the YouTube Video

Business Detail

Smithers is a town located in northwestern British Columbia, Canada, approximately halfway between Prince George and Prince Rupert. Smithers is located in the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako. With a population of 5,509, Smithers is a service area for most of the Bulkley Valley.

Smithers and the Bulkley Valley is home to many musicians, including Juno-Award-winning Alexis Puentes and hometown folks hero Mark Perry. The biggest assembly of musical talent happens during the annual Mid-Summer Music festival in late June. Over the years, Mid-Summer music festival has seen some famous acts like Spirit of the West and Barenaked Ladies has drawn audiences and participants from all across North America.

The Della Herman Theatre, named after a long time resident and former school board official, is the primary venue for shows and performances, though several pubs and even open fields serve as secondary performance venues. Numerous organisations including the Bulkley Valley Community Arts Council operate to keep music and other artistic activities vibrant.

After a tiring day on the road, you’ll appreciate the selection and amenities available for RVer’s and tenters. Within a 10 km/6 miles radius of downtown Smithers, there are at least 5 choices for your RV and camping needs. Besides a number of private and municipal facilities, one of British Columbia’s famed Provincial Parks—Tyhee Lake Provincial Park—is available to you. Some of the other spots are right on the banks of the Bulkley River, a fabled steelhead and salmon angling river. And anywhere that you camp, you’ll have a ‘room with a view’ of the Hudson Bay or Babine Mountains. What are you waiting for—load up your RV and head to Smithers BC

Known as the “Town for All Seasons”, Smithers offers outstanding outdoor recreational pursuits during all phases of the year. This includes fishing and hunting, downhill and cross-country skiing, golfing, snowmobiling, canoeing, alpine hiking to rock climbing, ultimate frisbee to river fishing and kayaking and many more activities too numerous to list. Coupled with a range of urban features such as cultural pursuits and indoor recreation opportunities, Smithers has something for everyone.

As if by magnet, artists are drawn to Smithers. Perhaps it’s the natural beauty of the surrounding—expansive mountain vistas; roaring rivers and tranquil creeks and brooks. Or, is it the solitude that provokes such a wealth of artistic and cultural talent? Whatever the reason, the seasons are alive with displays of musical, dance and theater performances.
