Lynn Lake is a small town in the northwest region of Manitoba, Canada, 1,071 km from Winnipeg. The town was named after Lynn Smith, chief engineer of Sherritt Gordon Mines Ltd. As of December, 2004, the population of Lynn Lake had estimated 800 residents.Serving as a regional centre for northwestern Manitoba and northeastern Saskatchewan, travel to Lynn Lake is accomplished by air and road. Once you arrive, there is no mistaking that you are in Canada's north; free, rugged, wild and breathtaking. This is the Land of Little Sticks, where spruce trees have been shaped by the forces of nature. Retreating glaciers scarred the landscape leaving behind eskers.
