Safe and Trusted Canada creates and maintains Information Only Profiles using publicly available business information. Safe and Trusted Canada goes beyond business names, reviews, and star ratings. Consumers can find Canadian businesses by location, category, services, and credentials, including licensing, liability insurance and WCB coverage where applicable. Safe and Trusted Canada uses Cities, Towns and Trade Areas as a way to communicate effectively with Consumers and Businesses. A business in a city means it serves that city. A business in a trade area serves that city and the surrounding area. Trade areas allow businesses to expand their reach provincially and across Canada. A Trade Area designation includes the city name and a TA designation.  Businesses in smaller towns may want their own designation and trade area.  If demand exists, each smaller area can have its own Provincial trade area and a town trade area. If there is no demand or interest, the Site will need to place businesses in smaller areas in larger trade areas. 

A business owner or authorized representative may request removal of an Information Only Profile at any time if the business is no longer in operation. A business can request removal at any time, even without an account.  Business owners may also manage their listing at no charge through a free Basic Account. The Basic Account provides a username and password, giving the business owner control of the information displayed in the listing and the ability to keep it up to date. Businesses with a paid account can pay yearly or monthly.  Both plans require a 60-day notice to cancel or downgrade. As an example, a business that purchases the Professional Plan can pay $599 yearly or $51.91 monthly.  If they choose the yearly plan, they pay for one year and give us 60 days' notice to cancel; there are no future payments.  If they choose the monthly plan, they pay $51.91 per month and must cancel before the first month ends.  They pay for only 2 more payments, and more payments are necessary. Their business would revert to an information-only plan.  The one drawback is that they lose their position in the database. To ensure accuracy, verified accounts give businesses more control over what they offer. A verified account automatically expands the Basic Plan. The number of primary categories and subcategories is unlimited. As an example, the Primary Category may be hotels. Other Primary categories may be Accommodation and Travel; subcategories may be Hotels, Motels, and other amenities. All Users can manage their account. All Subscription types can link their website and profile through account access, giving the business greater marketing potential. In addition, each listing is measured. Every time you or someone else opens the profile, it registers in your account. There is no more guesswork. By using the embed link in your account profile, you can link your profile and your website. This lets the business owner see everything in one place at all times, at no charge. They need to use the Embed Link from their account to complete the link. Every business listed on Safe and Trusted Canada appears in its provincial trade area, city or town. Example: a hotel in Alberta will be seen in Alberta. Consumers can still search by city and town. Basic, Plus, Standard and Advanced Accounts receive placement in their Provincial Trade Area and one Local Trade Area. Extended Visibility Options are available for $199 per year for Standard, Advanced, and Professional subscriptions. Setup is free, and you'll instantly get in front of consumers before everyone else, except the first business in your area and category to sign up. The business owner is always in control and can leave at any time. They have their own username and password. 

Extended Provincial Trade Areas can be used within the province for the business or, if allowed, interprovincially. A lawyer in Saskatoon may serve Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver or Toronto. A medical professional may serve numerous areas in their province or, as a specialist, attract consumers from other provinces. You can sell a product in your small-town location and expand across Canada with our system. 

Account setup may take up to an hour, depending on your account type. The Professional Plan is the most difficult because it lets you upload 10 YouTube videos, 20 images, up to 5 PDFs, and direct links to all parts of your website. It also includes direct links to any part of your website. With the business owner's permission, we will transfer all permitted information the owner provides so consumers have the information you want to make available. We can pull it directly from your website or other sources, but the business owner must permit us to do so. We normally charge our standard setup fee of $99.00, but for a limited time, it is free. Upload up to 10 PDF Documents - Example: A restaurant may upload its menu. Upload up to 20 images. We offer Business Setup Options for Premium subscriptions at $99.00 per business. This includes website links, image uploads, finding the right YouTube videos for your business, and ensuring your business is ready to attract consumers. Once set up, it requires minimal ongoing work. 

Extended Visibility is $199 per year and is available only with Standard, Advanced, and Professional subscriptions. Extended Visibility also provides a Featured Listing. If you are a contractor, you can also use Extended Visibility, but you must have the right credentials for that area. 

The Provincial Trade Area is automatically based on the business's home province. The business owner can set Local Trade Areas. If you are a contractor, the additional trade areas must be in your home province. If you are a business that serves all of Canada, additional trade areas may be selected elsewhere in Canada. All businesses are listed by subscription type and activation date. Additional Trade Areas are not fixed and may be moved at any time by the owner of the business through account access.
