The Safe and Trusted Canada website is presented in English. You may use your browser's translation feature to view the website in your preferred language. Safe and Trusted Canada creates and maintains Information Only Profiles using publicly available business information. Safe and Trusted Canada goes beyond business names, reviews, and star ratings. Business profiles may also include images, videos, documents, promotions and employment opportunities with direct links to the business website. See More About Safe and Trusted Canada

A business owner or authorized representative may request removal of an Information Only Profile at any time. Business owners may also manage their listing at no charge through a free Basic Account. The Basic Account provides a username and password, giving the business owner control of the information displayed in the listing and the ability to keep it up to date. Consumers can search for a business by business location, phone number, city, credentials, and more.   See the YouTube Video

Business Detail

Blind River is a town situated on the North Channel of Lake Huron in the Algoma District, Ontario, Canada. The town was named after the nearby Blind River. Blind River celebrated its centennial in 2006.

The town had a population of 3,780 in the Canada 2006 Census. Its main businesses are tourism, fishing, logging, and uranium refining.

Blind River has seven churches, as well as a Kingdom Hall located just outside of the town, and a variety of merchants and service industries.

Blind River has many beaches on Lake Huron, including Fourth Sand, Sellers Park, Boom Camp, Forest Glen Beach, as well as many others.

Blind River is home to a large uranium refinery operated by the Cameco Corporation, which is situated just outside of town as well as a world renowned golf course by the name of Huron Pines Country Club, which is just a mile away from one of the longest running businesses in the area, MacIver's Motel & Camp Ltd, which has been family operated for nearly 65 years. Our small and friendly community offers vacationers the ultimate getaway destination. Take a break from the busy city life and enjoy our beautiful natural surroundings. For the outdoor enthusiast we have hundreds of lakes and rivers for fishing and camping. Blind River’s marina facilities on beautiful Lake Huron offer visitors boat launching, fuel, and of course our very special Marina Café where visitors can sit inside or out, have a great meal or just a cup of coffee and surf the internet free. We have clean well maintained beaches, parks and over 12 kilometers of multi-season trails for the hiker, cross-country skier, and nature lover. In addition to this Blind River’s extensive snowmobile trail system has lodging and fuel facilities that are linked to Ontario’s provincial trails network. For the past four years the town has been recognized at the Provincial level as one of the Top 50 Ontario Festivals for its excellence in hosting and organizing events that promote culture and heritage. A special thank you goes out to our financial sponsors and many volunteers that help make these activities happen each year. Blind River has much to offer residents and visitors alike. We are looking forward to seeing everyone in Blind River over the summer of 2009. Come and enjoy our hospitality.
