Business Detail
Englehart is a town in the district of Timiskaming, province of Ontario, Canada. (2006 population 1,494.) It was built in 1908 by the Temiskaming and Northern Ontario Railway, what would later become the Ontario Northland Railway, as a rest stop between North Bay and Cochrane.
Grant Forest Products operates a OSB manafacturing plant on the edge of the town. It currently employs many of the town's people and residents from other near towns. Kap-Kig-Iwan Park is a provincial park and is located in the heart of Northern Ontario, two kilometers off Highway 11 North. A picturesque setting spread out over 325 hectares of (803 acres) of land, the park is situated within the boundaries of the townships of Dack and Evanturel just outside of the town of Englehart. Kap-Kig-Iwan offers the outdoor enthusiast a relaxed, back to nature atmosphere. The Englehart & Area Historical Museum is the oldest and tallest building in Englehart as it was the original Englehart Public School building built in 1909. The musem has three floors and over 17,000 artifacts from prehistoric to early 20th century times. Hunting in the area is excellent and many facilities exist to assist sportsmen in their gaming adventure. Ruffled grouse and Spruce grouse are plentiful and make a good hunt in the fall in the sweet smelling brush close to Englehart and Charlton. If you prefer larger game, try a moose, deer or bear. Big game hunting for deer, moose and bear attract many hunters to the area each year. Set up a camp by a lake, or take a hike through the great outdoors, attend the annual Englehart Fall Fair and The Festival of Flowers or the annual Stan Memorial Mud Bog Truck and ATV competition. Englehart is also well known for it's year round sports activities. The fun loving family will enjoy the snow and the ice sports of the sparkling Canadian winter.
Englehart is surrounded by miles of well groomed snowmobile trails and are easy to access! As a result of the quantity of annual snowfall, Englehart has become a natural destination for many snowmobiling enthusiasts. We are located on the Club Echo trail system which as 260 km of snowmobile trails and connects to all the trails in the area. Accomodations, fuel, restaurants, gas stations, grocery store and a liquor store are all in close proximity to the trails. Englehart is a snowmobile friendly town, allowing snowmobile access on all town streets.
